Product Update: Save Time and Stay On-Brand with the New Template Manager

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our new Template Manager. This brand new feature allows you to save content blocks as templates and reuse them anywhere in your account. No more recreating the same blocks over and over again.

In addition to improved efficiency, the template manager gives you more control over your brand’s identity. Designers can now create and save branded templates, empowering other users to easily create stunning content that’s always on-brand.
What’s the template manager all about?
The template manager is available to Admin users and empowers you to:
Work more efficiently by saving content blocks as templates Design blocks, save them as templates, and easily reuse them in any publication in your account.
Keep your publications on-brand Design branded templates so other users can create stunning publications that are perfectly on-brand.
Stay organized and in full control over user access Create a better overview by organizing your templates in categories, edit existing templates, and determine if other users should be able to use them.
By default, you can save up to 5 templates. The new Template Manager Add-on allows you to save up to 25. If you want to do more with our template manager, take a look at the solutions we offer with Foleon for Enterprise.
Good to know: When you’ve saved a block as a template, you can update it at any time or delete it to free up space for a new template. This will not affect publications where you’ve used one of your own templates.

Additionally, we’ll go through the most important features of the template manager below.
1. When working on a block, Admin users will find a new “Save as template” button in a block’s settings panel.
2. When saving, you can give the template a name, add it to a category, and determine its availability by setting a status.
3. In the blocks overview, you’ll find a new section called “My templates” from where you can easily add your own templates to any publication.
4. Finally, Admin users can modify your templates in the new Templates Overview area of the dashboard.

Conclusion and future plans
The template manager is the first in a series of upcoming improvements focused on helping you work more efficiently. In the future, you’ll also be able to save overlays, pages, and entire publications as templates. On top of that, we’re also working on improving how themes work and are saved.
We’re also confident this new feature will strengthen your grip on your brand identity as your designers create branded templates that other users can use when creating publications.
