About Projects

With Foleon, every Foleon Doc you create is part of a project. Each project has its own settings: a hostname, Google Analytics code, and default logos. These settings apply to every Foleon Doc within a project.

See how projects fit into the Foleon account structure.

You can have multiple projects within one workspace. This helps you organize your content and allows you to set a different domain for different Docs. Any user with access to your workspace can view all projects and their contents.

💡 Want to control who can access groups of Docs? With workspaces, you can manage access and keep content organized. Contact us here to explore adding a workspace to your account.

Domain setup

Here, you decide how you want to host your Foleon Docs. You can choose from either the Foleon default domain or your own custom domain

⚠️ Make sure that the project alias is unique. Having multiple projects with the same alias will lead to issues with your preview.

  • Use your own custom domain: Host your content on a custom domain you set up with your hosting provider (e.g., ebook.yourdomain.com).
    • Domain: Select your domain from the dropdown
    • Base path: A base path helps structure your content and improve your Doc's SEO. To use one custom domain for multiple projects, you must add a unique base path to the URL for a successful setup.

When you delete a project, all Foleon Docs in that project (including all form submissions and Foleon Doc metrics) will also be deleted. Therefore, we ask you to type the project name to confirm you want to proceed.

💡 Deleting a project or a Foleon Doc cannot be undone.

⚠️ If you’re planning to delete a project that contains published Foleon Docs, make sure you set them offline first. Otherwise, they will remain online.

You can move a Foleon Doc from one project to another. Open the quick actions menu (⋮) on the Doc you want to move and click Move. You'll be taken to a new window where you can select another project from the drop-down menu.

⚠️ Your Doc needs to be unpublished to move it to a different project, as this changes the URL.
