Save your Doc as a template

You’ve created a Foleon Doc that ticks all the boxes — it’s engaging, on-brand, and effective. If you want to use it as a starting point for future Docs, you can save your Doc as a template. This empowers your team to create on-brand content quickly and consistently in just a few clicks.

Why save a Doc as a template?

When you save a Foleon Doc as a template, you help your team create consistent, on-brand content quickly. Instead of building each Doc from scratch or duplicating old versions, templates provide a reliable starting point that maintains brand guidelines.

Designers can create templates that ensure content stays on-brand, reducing the risk of design inconsistencies over time.

Once you save a Doc as a template, it’s available to your entire workspace when starting a new Foleon Doc.

FAQs

What do I actually save in a Doc template?

When you save a Doc as a template, you keep:

  • All content and layout

  • All brand settings

  • All internal links, including buttons to overlays

You do not save: Doc-specific settings, such as navigation styles

What's the difference between duplicating a Foleon Doc and saving a Doc as a template?

Duplicating creates a one-off copy that may gradually drift from brand standards as changes are made over time. Templates, however, provide a stable, brand-approved starting point that ensures consistency across all Docs.

Can I share a Doc template with other workspaces?

Not directly, but here's a workaround:

  1. Create a new Foleon Doc based on the Doc template
  2. Duplicate this Foleon Doc to a different workspace
  3. In the other workspace, save the Foleon Doc as a Doc template

Can I assign a category to a Doc template?

No, this is not possible yet.
