Do you want your audience to email you with the click of a button? A mail-to link will open up the mailing software of your audience (e.g. Gmail) on both mobile and desktop devices. In this article, we show you how you can create these links.

How to create a mail-to link
Let's say you want to link to an email address from the text. In the example below, we have selected the text "Get in touch". After this, go to the text bar and click on Insert Link.

In the pop-up screen that appears, in Link to, select External URL.

First, delete the "http://" from the field. The field says: "Warning: Please enter a https or http link here.", but this does not apply here.
Start with "mailto:", followed by the email address of your choice. In the example below, the reader will email support@foleon.com when they click on "Get in touch".

Link from an image
To add a link to an image, hover your mouse over the desired element and click on Settings at the top right corner of the element. Go to General settings and click on Edit link. You have to click on External URL in the "Link to" option.
Follow the steps described earlier in this article.

Link from a button

Pre-set an email subject
You can also add a pre-set subject to your mail-to links. If you want to do this, end the email address with "?subject=" followed by the words of the subject line (with "%20" between each word). In the example below, the subject line is "The subject of the mail". The link will look something like this:
mailto:yourname@yourcompany.com?subject=The%20subject%20of%20the%20mail
If a reader clicks on this link, the subject will automatically be added to the created email.
