All about sharing templates

You can save pages, overlays, and blocks as templates to reuse them across Foleon Docs. If you’re an admin or designer, you can share templates between workspaces via the Brand Console, helping your teams create on-brand content faster and more independently.

⚠️ Multiple workspaces are not included in every plan. If you want to use this functionality, contact us here.

How do shared templates work?

Via the Brand Console, you can determine which workspaces have access to specific templates. Admins and designers with access to the Brand Console can assign the template to one, multiple, or all workspaces.

By sharing templates, you can ensure your Foleon Docs are on-brand with approved content. It also enables you to work more independently, with less review time from your brand owner.

Templates saved within a workspace are only usable there. But templates managed from the Brand Console can be shared with other workspaces.

⚠️ To share a template across workspaces, it must be managed from the Brand Console. Follow the steps here to move your template to the Brand Console.

Depending on your user role, you use shared templates in different ways:

  • As an admin or designer

You share templates across workspaces via the Brand Console. This makes sure other users create on-brand content while saving time.

  • As an editor or publisher

In the templates library, these users will find templates that have been shared via the Brand Console. If no templates are available yet, check with your admin or designer — they may just need to assign them!

How to share a template

Let's say you want users across all workspaces to use the same welcome page for each Foleon Doc. You can create a page template in the Brand Console named "Welcome" and assign it to the relevant workspaces. This action ensures all users have easy access to the correct template.

💡 Only admins and designers with access to the Brand Console can share templates across workspaces.

Open the Brand Console and go to the Templates tab.

Click the quick actions menu (⋮) on your template and select Assign to workspace.
Alternatively, click the workspace counter at the bottom of the template thumbnail to open the Assign to workspace window.
