Page transitions help your Foleon Doc feel smooth, engaging, and modern as readers move from one page to the next. With flexible styles and speed settings, you can shape the navigation experience to match your content's tone and structure.

What are page transitions?
Page transitions are visual effects that appear when a reader moves between pages in your Doc. They guide the reader through your content and help create a more immersive experience.
You can choose from four styles:
- Slide (selected by default)
- Hijack
- Roll|
- Slide & Zoom
Each transition style creates a different feel as readers move between pages. You can also adjust the transition speed or turn transitions off entirely for a website-like experience.
The Slide & Zoom transition is shown below:
How to add page transitions
To update your page transition settings, open your Doc in the editor.
Click the Menu and select Doc settings.
Go to the Navigation section and scroll down to Page transitions.
Make sure the toggle for Page transitions is turned on. Select one of the transition styles and choose a transition speed: Slow, Normal, or Fast.
You can also choose to turn on Return to top on page revisit
Save your changes by scrolling to the end of the Navigation section and clicking Save.
After saving, you can open the Preview mode from the top bar. Navigate between pages to see the page transitions.
If you're happy with the transitions, be sure to (re)publish your Doc to make the changes live.
Turn off page transitions
You can turn off page transitions entirely if you want your Doc to feel more like a traditional website — for example, if you're building a non-linear layout like a product hub or resource center. This disables animations between pages, creating a faster, more direct navigation experience.
💡 Turning page transitions off won't affect animations inside your pages, such as entrance animations.
To disable transitions: In the Navigation section of your Doc settings, toggle off Page transitions.
Save your changes to apply the update.
This is what your transitions will look like when page transitions are turned off:
Using "Return to top on page revisit"
By default, Foleon remembers where a reader left off when returning to a page. However, for long-form content, you might want readers to always return to the top of the page.
To enable this behavior, go to the Navigation section in your Doc settings and scroll to Page transitions.
Toggle on Return to top on page revisit. Save your changes by scrolling to the end of the Navigation section and clicking Save.
Once enabled, readers will always return to the top of the page instead of their last scroll position.
